In 2012, Jessica DeYoung and Marlys Materson, traveled to Zambia for three weeks on a mission trip. While there, they met Victor Chimfwembe, a bible college student who had recently started an orphan rescue ministry. (Read Victor’s story here.) Upon returning to the United States, Marlys continued communicating with and supporting Victor’s ministry and decided to move to Zambia to better assist in the start-up of an official Zambian non-profit, Hallelujah House of Yahweh (HHY). With HHY not being tied to an organization or church in the United States and having donors wondering where/how to give, Jessica saw a need to develop a nonprofit to offer administrative and fundraising support for HHY and other grassroot organizations that lacked such support from a larger entity.
Holistic Global Partners, Inc. (HGP) was developed and received official IRS 501c3 status in 2013.
Jessica DeYoung, LMSW is the Executive Director and President of Holistic Global Partners where she has been the lead on daily operations since the organization’s inception. Upon Marlys Materson’s return to the United States in 2015, she has continued her relationship with HHY acting as their Administrator, and is Vice President of the HGP Board of Directors.

Chinese philosopher, Lao Tzu once said, “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach him how to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.”
We at Holistic Global Partners believe this to be true.
We don’t jump into partnerships with the main goal of teaching each partner how to run their organization (or “how to fish”). Once a partnership agreement is entered into, we observe how our partner is operating and their “fish catching” techniques. We offer constructive feedback. Together, we discuss their sustainability goals and brainstorm ways to achieve their stated goals. Each ministry and organization we work with started from something - a strong desire to fill a gap or a need. A purpose. We call this the “heart” and work to keep the heart at the center of everything we discuss with our partners when assisting them in forming sustainability goals.
